Spray Tanning Tips
Let’s be real: there can be some negative preconceptions around spray tanning. From orange anxiety to worries about smell, spray tanning hasn’t gotten the best press. But we’re here to tell you that at Bronz'd, you’ll leave looking fabulous and smelling great.
Preparation:
Exfoliate well with an oil free body wash and wash cloth/glove. Do not use oil scrubs or coffee scrubs. Oil creates a barrier and your tan will not process well. Waxing is required to be done 48 hours prior to or shaving is required 24 hours prior to your spray tan session for optimal processing results.
Day of appointment:
Your skin should be free of makeup, deodorant, sweat, fragrances, lotions, jewelry, and it should be clean and prepared in accordance with the above instructions.
Arrive to your spray tan:
Please dress properly by wearing loose fit clothing (no leggings) and an open shoe.
During your spray tan session:
When you’ve been tucked away into your own private tanning room, feel free to get as naked as you like. If you decide not to spray tan nude, you’ll want to wear a swimsuit or undergarment that you don’t mind staining.
Post care for spray tanning:
STAY DRY.
To help develop your tan develop, you'll want to avoid any activities that will cause perspiration, for 4-5 hours. This includes showering, workouts, hot yoga, lotions, liquid foundations ect. Staying dry will help the spray tan solution adhere to your skin.
WAIT TO SHOWER.
We recommend showering no sooner than 8 hours after your spray tan but no longer than 24 hours after. When you do shower, be gentle and only use oil-free cleansers. Avoid any exfoliants and just use the palm of your hand to gently rinse off the surface bronzer. Avoid harsh scrubbing, hot water, drying soaps, and other chemicals. Pat yourself dry instead of rubbing. Moisturize daily with an oil-free moisturizer. Hydrated skin maintains a tan longer.
